Faces of Liver UK
Being able to talk to someone who is not family is really helpful.

Kieran

Young adult with liver disease

About me

I’m Kieran, I’m 25 and I was born with biliary atresia. I had my first liver transplant when I was 11 months old. It was a huge success – I was well for many years but was told when I was a teenager that a second transplant would be needed in the future. Three years ago, doctors told me that the time had come to be relisted for transplant as my liver was failing. I became very poorly in February this year, was admitted to hospital and fortunate to receive a liver transplant within weeks. I’m all done now,  back home and doing well. My full story is here.

Why Liver UK matters

It’s great to know that I can contact Liver UK if I have questions or are worried about something. I don’t like to worry my parents so being able to talk to someone who is not family is really helpful.

Please consider making a donation to support Liver UK, their support for young people is funded by the generosity of supporters like you.
