Sarah Howard MBE is a respected business leader with extensive experience in governance, strategic development and community impact. She recently stepped down as Chair of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) after completing her national term, and now serves as Chair Emeritus.
Alongside her national leadership, Sarah has a strong commitment to local philanthropy and social enterprise. She has chaired a number of local organisations and charities, creating a lasting resource for the community and she chairs a large not‑for‑profit leisure trust.
Sarah’s daughter has Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC) and underwent a life‑saving liver transplant in January 2026. Throughout that journey, Sarah saw first‑hand the vital support Liver UK provides to patients and families – offering trusted information, reassurance, and a sense of community at the most difficult moments.
Inspired by this support, Sarah joined the Board of Trustees to help ensure that every family facing liver disease receives the same compassion and clarity. She brings her professional expertise, lived experience, and a commitment to improving liver health across the UK.
